Reasonably Priced in NYC?

Where do all of you NYC-dwellers buy your clothes? I'm fairly new to the area and, aside from Uniqlo, haven't found much interesting that isn't ridiculously expensive. I'll see something kind of cool--a T-shirt, say--and check the tag to find it over $100. WTF?

I don't have that kind of discretionary income at this point, but need some new clothes. Suggestions?

$100 isn't even expensive for a t-shirt any more, which is not to say I think there are very many that are worth three digits -- but they go up to $700+ now (esp. Givenchy) and they're still 100% cotton.

This Balmain is for women, but you get the idea (no expensive materials, no embroidery or anything else, just holes and a brand name)

Welcome to liking clothes. It's bloody expensive.

Surely there have to be some decently-priced places around. If not, looks like I'm going to be wearing the same stuff for the next 4+ years.

I mean, seriously. I went in a store the other day and I don't think there was a single item under $200, and these was some pretty basic things. What do people do who want to look decent but don't set aside $50k for clothing every year?

Those things aren't ridiculously expensive. Uniqlo is just very cheap.

This is a forum for people who are enthusiastic about fashion, which means that most of the items here other than t-shirts are going to break $100. If you want to look decent but don't care about the quality or details, just go to Uniqlo, Muji, H&M, Zara, etc.
