old New York photographs from the 1940's and 1960 in color

Not sure if these have been posted here before (I ran a search and didn't see anything), but well worth a look regardless. Old color photographs of New York in color. The men all had such style. The women, of course, did as well. Also notice how little traffic there is on the streets.

The pics of the 40's, almost every adult male is wearing a hat.

Great pics! They bring back some early childhood memories. My dad took me to Delmonico's in the mid 1960's for my birthday and then to the NYSE.

Riding the Staten Island Ferry was our usual budget tour for relatives visiting us. Great way to see NY harbor and the skyline. It was only a nickel round trip (if you didn't get off). We would dine on hot dogs from a vendor.
