Charles Tyrwhitt shoe quality

I wondered as a modestly priced shoe, what the UK or otherwise guys made of CT shoes. Am I right they are made by Loake?

Are they pretty much the equal to standard Loake and Loake 1880 depending on the price range?

I'm particularly interested in them as they have G fittings (US E I believe - one notch up from a medium fit) in a great of styles, which should make it easier for me to get a good fitting shoe, given I wear small orthotic inserts.

last year bought a double monk at a discount (£99 or whatever)

Quality was pretty bad. Had to get new holes in the straps , etc

Never again. Definitely worse than a Loake 1881, whatever the price

I literally threw them away after using them 5 times-a 1st for me, (I have too many good shoes to waste time with them)

Generally speaking I would stick to shirts when it comes to CT-everything else is not worth it (not that the shirts are good, but quality/price is ok) -and remember the nominal price is a totally bs value.

I had bought a pair of their black label Fraser shoes, they actually were fairly nice - but i returned them because they run quite large and didnt have my size in stock. So I have not feedback as to how they hold up, but they looked good.

i bought a double monk as well and they were too roomy and the buckles broke. i sold them for practically nothing. they are absolutely crap

Every pair of CT shoes I have come across have been mediocre at best. There are several better options out there for sure. I have also cooled on their shirts. I used to think they offered a pretty good value, but the last three or four I have purchased have been significantly worse than those I had gotten several years ago.
