CEO Pranav Vora explains the thought behind these quirky shirts:

"We're calling this collection 'Not your average sport... shirts.' The idea is this: we like the traditional button-down collar sport shirts that have been around for ages, but find them to be a bit too boring and ubiquitous. Like baseball and football at this time of year, if you will. So we added a second top button and gave it a spread collar, just slightly sprezzatura.

These two details give the collar a pronounced stand unbuttoned, and just enough room to pack the perfect knot when buttoned with a tie. They also have convertible cuffs that can be buttoned or take cuff links, a friendly reminder that sport doesn't have to mean rolled up sleeves."

Button-down with no roll = fail.

Might actually look okay unbuttoned, but will certainly look awful with a tie.

Translation: We like traditional button-downs, but we had to change them because we're amateurs who think things that are already perfect need to be fucked with, so we fucked them up and ruined them.

Terrible idea.

On first glance I thought it is okay and I was ready to lash out at all of you for being boring backwards old farts who stick to conservatism for the sake of wanting to be sartorial elites. Then I read the description and looked at the pictures closely and thought 'wtf'? Theres so much going on there just around the collar: cutaway, short, limp, button down AND double buttons? So I agree with y'all: nastiness.

And that isn't sprezz, that's the anti-sprezz.

There are no shortage of people deeming themselves 'genius' by re-inventing the wheel.

The collar on that shirt does look distinctly odd. Although I'm not normally used to seeing button down collared shirts.

Collars like this were very common in the 1980's

Were the collars that tall back then as well?

Eye-balling it, that collar appears to be 1.5" - 2" high, possibly 1/2" higher than the 1980s. I wore shirts with collars exactly like that with either button-down or spread collars and wore them with ultra skinny ties. I was a lot younger then and ultra skinny myself. I also remember not caring for them so much. A collar like this best compliments a man with a short or medium length neck. For those with longer necks, I would recommend avoiding because it won't look proportionate. These collars are also best suited for slim fit jackets.

And your shirts also had button down collars and spread points?

Now, where's that BURN IT WITH FIRE graphic?
