That company's shoes are too pointy and too square even for my chisel-loving taste, but he seems to know what he's doing with the styling he wants and I respect that.

i have no problem in calling JW out for creating these abominations and further contributing both to the decay of style and the death of shoemaking in northampton.

these pieces of shit are the pontiacs of shoes - to me it is worse that they are made in england (in fact i very much doubt that they are, at least completely), because it associates english shoemaking with tasteless trash.

The offending brogue pics are all gone now?  How bad could they have been?

See CptJeff's post above, it's the same pic.

Oh, I just saw the picture of the brogue in question.  I think the OP is relatively inexperienced when it comes to brogued shoes, so the dramatic 'your blog and taste suck' posts were a little premature.  From what I can tell, he was even asking 'Are these good or bad, because I am unsure?'

You can't pile on the poor chap for trying to better acquaint himself with the style.  Anyways, brogues are usually ghoulish unless done very sparingly, although this is from a more conservative, minimalist perspective.  The cleaner and simpler the shoe, usually the better.  And wingtips are horrible as well.
