This is in relation to the bottled version. I've had a bottle of vintage benedictine that had sat in a cupboard for years, and I loved the stuff. But I never tried the B&B cocktail, since it's basically a way of making the overall concoction dryer, and I didn't need that. I was mixing it in various drinks to great success, and occasionally having some straight.
But the lousy ABC system in NC doesn't stock Benedictine, just the bottled B&B, which pisses me off to no end. To get Benedictine, I'd have to order a case of 12, and that's a little on the pricy side for something I use at a fairly slow rate.
So my question is how the bottled B&B compares, and if anyone has suggestions for similar liqueurs I might enjoy. Preferably not more expensive than the B&B.
