Alternatives to hairmax laser comb

I am only 23 but I have been experiencing some thinning on the crown of my head. I plan on fighting it to the bitter end (I have a weird shaped head that would look awful if I shaved it all off). I've seen suggestions on the forum suggesting the lasercomb as a method because it has been FDA approved, but the only thing is that I don't have $300+ to shell out. Are there any cheaper alternatives that actually work or do I have to sell a kidney to save my hair?

Get generic Rogaine, it's about $6-$12 a month.

I'd rather steer away because when you stop using it then the hair loss is very sudden. I used rogaine before and it just seemed to make my hair greasy and eventually felt dried out.

Your only other choice at the moment then is Propecia. You can use Nizoral shampoo for some benefit as well. Google DHT and hair.

Thanks for the tip. I just ordered some nizoral but I just wish propecia wasn't so expensive.

In canada, they have a generic form of propecia thats not available in the US yet. I order it online. It costs $79 for a 3 month supply. It's a completely legit website and I need to send them a prescription to get it. It's nothing shady or weird

Thanks for the suggestion. I'm trying to set up an appointment with a dermatologist, so when I get a prescription I will check it out.

It shouldn't be "very sudden". You can go a week, maybe two, without using rogaine without any significant shedding.

Anyways, what's wrong with rogaine? I just look at it like brushing my teeth, same concept.

I don't mind doing it at night, but when I do it in the morning my hair feels/looks greasy and I kind of feel a little self conscious about it in public. I guess it's better than going bald so I might have to just buck up.

Use the liquid rogain. It only goes on your scalp.

As for the laser hair brush, there was a LifeHacker video on how to make one, but I cant seem to find it now. There are a few guides on how to make your own. It simply involves taking a regular hair brush and drilling sockets into it where you can glue lasers.
