Tie widening in Los Angeles or San Francisco

Hello,

I recently purchased some nice ties from a seller who had his original (3.5") cut and thinned to (2.75") from tiecrafters. The problem is I didn't think 2.75" would be a problem but it is. I'm more of a traditional 3.25-3.5" guy.

I called tiecrafters and asked them if they could widen the tie and they said only if there is enough fabric. Well, that means I'd need at least .5" of extra fabric and I think I do but I want to confirm.

Is there a "tie specialist" in LA or San Francisco that does tie widening?

Sorry for the very specific question but hope you can help.

Cheers

Are you sure they were "cut and thinned," or did they just re-fold them to make them narrower? If it's the latter, then TC could make them wide again.
