Watch question...

Hi all,

I received a watch as a gift. I am wondering, however, whether it's the right watch for me and/or whether I should exchange it for something different. Any insight would be really helpful!

A couple of things:

I don't own a "nice" watch. I own an inexpensive and simple Skagen watch on a black leather strap that I wear when I dress up and need to wear something. Otherwise I have a couple of $50-200 watches that I don't really like all that much.

I received a Tag Heuer Aquaracer 39mm quartz (WAP1110.BA0831). I hate having to change batteries and the style isn't EXACTLY what I would choose for myself (though I do like diver watches generally), so I was considering exchanging it and pitching in a bit more money for a similarly styled automatic movement (WAN2110.BA0822). I know that it was purchased at Macy's, so I could bring it back and exchange for whatever is available there and Macy's has the WAN2110.BA0822.

A few things I've been thinking about:

- The price seems high for something that I won't LOVE to wear.
- How reliable are Tags?
- Is the automatic (WAN2110.BA0822) a step up, or simply a more expensive step sideways?
- Are there 'better' (more reliable, longer-lasting, classier/more classic) watches available at Macy's? Victorinox maybe?

Thanks in advance.

Tag is a pretty respectable company. Automatic watches are usually more expensive due to the mechanism. They need to be wound up every now and then though, if you don't plan on wearing it daily, or on a regular basis. You can use a winder to cure the issue as well.

If you want 'reliable', get a Casio. It will keep perfect time for decades to come.

I didn't even know Macys carries Tag now.
