I recently purchased a new pair of brown Santoni shoes that I will wearing to my wedding on Friday. I've never owned a really high quality pair of shoes before and was curious if there was anything I should know before wearing......do typically shine them before wearing even thoug they are new? Should they be treated before hand with any type of conditioning cream? I DO have shoe trees for them, I know that much, but little else.

You could polish, shine, and condition, but it's generally not necessary. You might want to try breaking them in before your wedding, though, in case you're on your feet for hours and hours.

Agree with the above poster regarding his second point - break those shoes in. Wear them around the house for a few hours or so every day until your wedding [or for a whole day once before your wedding] so the shoe can conform some to your feet.

A quick condition and polish is recommended - the shoes may be brand new and store-bought, but you're not really sure if the leather's dried some during storage/display. Ounce of prevention > pound of cure and all that.

Remember to look in her eyes when you say, 'I do.' and remember the 5 words that will keep you married a long, long time, which are, 'I Love You' and 'Yes Dear.' Enjoy your day, and we love photos!

Thank you, its been covered ad nauseum. I've discussed my wedding attire in a previous post and received a ton of help. Do you have anything constructive about shoe care?
