New season starts in October. Pretty fun looking lineup with some bigger celebrity chefs than I would have thought: http://www.foodnetwork.com/the-next-iron-chef-rivals/package/index.html.

Half the time I can't believe I am watching people cook on TV, but what a great way to shut off your brain...

Anyone see the first episode?

I like the new format where they have the two worst chefs from the main challenge compete in a sudden death cook-off. I bet that was one way they were able to get so many great chefs to agree to join. It is less embarrassing to get eliminated after cooking a dish that is "slightly less great than your opponent's" I suppose...

I watched the episode. I like the format, but I actually hate the lineup of competitors. Food Network continues to reach new lows in caring far more about marketable food-related TV celebrities than about good cooking.
