After how many wears to judge altering jeans

I recently bought some indigo Levi 504s, and washed them twice before getting them shortened to allow for denim shrinking a little at first.

They looked great but after a full day's wear looked less slim fitting and with a bit of stacking on the knee and at the shoe, rather than the single full break I'd had them altered to.

So I wondered do you guys judge how much to alter further based on what a jean looks like after a full day's wear (which would suggest the leg needs a little slimming from mid thigh and a little shortening too) ?

I don't buy jeans very often so all advice is appreciated!

Would like to know this as well. I have been wearing a pair of nudies for a few weeks now that have stretched quite a bit and are now too big. Should I get them altered now or wait til first wash?

After speaking to an alterations lady today, she said jeans with elastane in tend to billow out over the course of a day's wear, particularly if you sit a lot.

This is not a problem where they use 100% cotton or cotton + lycra.

Alas tapering at the billowing point of the knee would probably just make it worse - causing more stretch at this point. So I might just get a tiny taper below the knee, or just leave them alone smile.gif
