SIMON SPURR vs. SPURR??

I just learned about the brand from seeing the Simon Spurr spring 2012 runway show. Can someone please explain the difference between the two brands? I see both online and it only looks like a price difference.

SPURR has a younger, edgier aesthetic, so fits are skinnier, there's more distressing, stuff like that. Simon Spurr is more tailored clothing—suits, etc. In terms of denim, almost all the Simon Spurr denim is selvedge, and the fit is generally a bit more slim/straight. The SPURR denim, on the other hand, is typically not selvedge and the fits run to the skinny side. To give you an example of what I mean, Simon Spurr pipe cut jeans will fit slim, but SPURR pipe cut jeans will fit skinny. Also, while SPURR isn't really designed to be cheaper—it's not a diffusion line, exactly—it does tend to be less expensive. I know all this because I actually asked a rep after wondering the same thing myself.

Thoughts anyone else on the brand(s)?

Just bought a pair of Spurr pipelegs the other day. Not sure if it's simon spurr or just spurr, but it has selvage line. Softest pair of raws ever:slayer:

I have a pair of their jeans, bought from GILT. Great jeans and the distressing is minimal, which I like.

The jeans do fit on the slimmer side too that is nice, had to size up from 31 to 32 do the the leg, waist is perhaps .5 - 1" too big though, but a belt will fix that. My only gripe is that GILT sent me a pair that looks to be "used" as the tag was no attached to the jeans and the button of the closure is completely ripped off, hanging by a thread.

REALLY WEIRD . . .

Did not want to send back b/c the jeans are indeed nice.

Nice, do you happen to have a pair that were raw and you faded? I've been trying to find some good evolution pics...

Nope. First Spurr denim, I saw the raw that was on 50% deep discount back when that one site launched. Size sold out, they looked very nice.

i am personally not that into raw/faded denim anymore. prefer pants and washed jeans icon_gu_b_slayer[1].gif

SPURR's sizing makes me a little nuts. It fits super slim so I have to size up on pretty much everything. It's gotten to where I won't buy online anymore. I always need to try it on first.
