Can a tailor make a henley's neck opening longer and add buttons?

I got a henley as a gift but it only has 2 buttons on it, which I don't really like, as I think a henley should have at least 3 buttons.

So I was wondering, can tailors alter it and make the neck opening a little longer and add an extra button on it?

Thanks for any input.

Another silly question from a newcomer who will probably disappear as quickly.

The best way to answer this is to ask one! I cannot think that it is possible because of the construction of the garment but there may be unattractive ways if there is surplus material to deploy: It might end up shorter. It would however seem an expensive alteration to a relatively cheap garment. Why not just lose it in a drawer then throw it away when it is taking up too much space?

Thank you for your response, thought your first line was quite unnecessary.

I actually like the henley a lot in terms of its color, so I'd hate to have to just lose it in a bottom drawer.

In any case, I'll go ask a tailor.  Thanks again.
