Anyone ever heard of Loro Piana / Paolo Lastrucci Suits?

Hi,

I'm brand new to this forum and am very inexperienced in buying a suit. I've looked on ebay for some good deals and I've come across this brand - Loro Piana by Paolo Lastrucci -

http://www.ebay.com/itm/1995-NWT-LORO-PIANA-130S-WOOL-DARK-GRAY-MENS-SUIT-/130563054269?pt=US_CSA_MC_Suits&var=&hash=item641fa023c7#ht_2253wt_1272

Hopefully any feedback on whether this is a legit/nice suit would be great!

So far I've been suggested:

Giorgio Armani

Ermenegildo Zegna

Hickey Freeman

Gucci

Dolce and Gabbana

Etro

I'm 5'11 / 160, which suits/material should I be looking for? Thanks so much for any feedback!

Andrew

Hey Andrew,
I don't know if you have already found info on the eBay seller you posted about but I bought some time ago a Zegna cloth by Paolo Lastrucci from them and am very happy with it.
Shipped directly from Italy and paid about the same price this Loro Piana.
My local tailor told me I got a very good deal and that made my day!

Hope this helps.

Cheers

The suit is made from Loro Piana fabric. Loro Piana is generally a well-respected make of fabric, but there's a lot more to a suit than the fabric it's made from.

Never heard of Paolo Lastrucci, who are the actual maker of the suit. I'm guessing it's another one of these unknown eBay brands which are always listed with a massively exaggerated RRP at which they are never actually sold. Don't think that you'll be getting a $2000 suit for $500, it's probably worth exactly what it's listed at (or less).
