elgin.jpg 10k .jpg file Can I get your opinion of the shoe? Good or bad? The shoe fits btw.......more of a question of whether you like the style. Thanks.

Don't like it. Roughing up AE classics is sort of stupid imho.

I like them. However, I wish they came in all widths.

I like it personally. In fact, I saw the Elgin and McTavish at an AE store and I prefer the Elgin due to the slightly darker / more reddish color and nicer finish (McTavish is more distressed).

I know AE says these can be worn with a suit. However, I feel the shoe is better designed for business casual or jeans. Just my take on it.

Just picked up the McTacvish in black. I'm new to AE and as an one-man-operation of an entrepreneur, have little need for strict dress clothes. But that doesn't mean I can't appreciate fine quality. The Rough Collection IMHO fills the need for those who want something inspired by the classics that's just a little bit - well - rough around the edges. These are much more denim-friendly than the McAllister and I'm finding that I can wear them with virtually anything in my wardrobe.

This is actually the shoe that made me an AE believer.
