In all reality, the round was over. After the headbutt there were less than 10 seconds left at that point which was taken up by Ortiz trying to get all touchy feely apologetic with Mayweather. The ref was incompetent and never called the round and nobody on the scorers table rang the bell to notify the end of the round. When the ref stepped out from between them after scoring the -1 to Ortiz and nobody had signaled the end of the 4th round Ortiz was fair game. Ortiz was just plain outmatched and made a big mistake. Others made mistakes in not calling the round over but in the end it is up to him to defend himself, there is nothing wrong with what Floyd did, that is just the difference between a young fighter and one on top of the game and with 10 more years experience.
Yeah, but the ref never called" fight on." And it is a cheap shot no matter what the legality, far more cheap than anything Ortiz did. money is ****.
