this fight reminded me of the old fight between mayweather vs arturo gatti...
gatti looked at the ref and mayweather clocked the dumbass down...

i guess ortiz did NOT study that in his film sessions...

i agree.. ortiz = dumbass.
mayweather is a slick and tricky guy, he'd punch you every chance you give him. and ortiz opened up voluntarily and let mayweather clock him real good.

anyone who thinks its a cheap shot, should check with the boxing hand book...
rule #1 - put your hands up at all times?
rule #2 - when the ref calls the fight on, then its world war III in the ring.
rule #3 - fight now, apologize LATER
rule #4 - its kill or be killed in the ring. the guy in front of you is your sworn enemy for 12 rounds. destroy the mother fucker!

Yeah, it was really strange. Ortiz apologized like 3 times trying to go up and give Floyd some hugs and kisses or some bs, Floyd already made clear the first 2 times he wasn't having it and Ortiz came back for more, the ref wasn't in there and Floyd took advantage, that is what any good fighter would have done. You are in the middle of a fight, leave the apologies for later and put your hands up.

"protect yourself at all times. Ok, let's have a good clean fight. Good luck Gentlemen" That phrasing addressed intentional head butts and sucker punches....How many times has Ortiz heard that before?

this reminded me of the old wwf, when your favorite wrestler turned heel and delivered a cheap shot happy.gif

yeah because he knew that mayweather was gonna whoop his ass even harder than he was the first 4 rounds...
so he thought he better not piss the guy off and save some beating rotflmao.gif

and i think he knew he had no chance anyway, why not go out on a controversial shot than get brutalized for 12 rounds

Ortiz was all smiles after anyways, with that payday he just got he has nothing to be mad about. It was clear that Floyd was on a whole different level than him anyways.

id be happy too... because i'd just saved 8 more rounds of ass whooping...
you see his face isnt like a red balloon?
if the fight ended in 12 rounds... ortiz's face would have been as red as a monkey's ass:laugh:

Yeah, but the ref never called" fight on." And it is a cheap shot no matter what the legality, far more cheap than anything Ortiz did. money is shit.

That fight was an embarrassment and a shame, pure and simple. Both sides should be ashamed, but they're not. Ortiz is getting paid (probably twice, because there will be a rematch) and Floyd is still undefeated and doesn't have to fight Pacquiao (due to said rematch). So it's a win-win for those two assholes. Meanwhile, boxing fans were left with a big, stinking turd.

Terrible fight, unless you're a fan of the old WWF style "drama".

Oritz looked happy as hell getting knocked out in front of millions....

I don't know how any true boxing fan could look at this fight and not see the unprofessionalism and downright un-sportsman like shit of a match. I thought Floyd would knock out the 80 year old announcer, you could tell that guy wanted to go 1960's, but PC strikes again

Oritz was kissing and hugging and deserved to get KO'd. This guy is a disgrace. Not to mention the ref....who looked like a senile, incompetent retiree paid to look away. Then Ortiz kisses Floyd AFTER the KO facepalm.gif It looked like the only losers were the people that paid to see this "fight"

Millions of MMA fans were made tonight
