Any particular reason why slim jeans need a zip or is it just what flies in Japan?

mlyngard I'll get some fit pics when they arrive, but I had a good chunk hemmed so they haven't shipped yet, and me being in Korea means I think it'll be a long time before I see them.

Kiya,
Any guess as to a 3sixteen ST-210 restock date, specifically the size 31?

This second question can go to anyone, but I'm comparing my Levi's 511's size 32 to the ST-210 Size 31 fit. On the Levi's, I'm measuring 11.4" in the thigh, right about 8" at the knee, and 7 3/8" for the leg opening, but those could be stretched a little. Can anyone who owns the ST-210's make the comparison, especially after any stretching?

Don't know about Japan, but I'm not a fan of the way that button flies tend to pull open and get distorted if the jeans are tight in the top block. With a zip fly, more of the necessary stretching happens outside the fly area, in my experience.

Do you have any jeans that have a topblock and thigh like a sc2009, but have a taper to them?

Hi Kiya.

I have a pair of Skull 5507 coming from you this week. I am now looking for a pair of Japanese denim that has the closest cut to Nudie Slim Jims. Any advice?

Also what Japanse demin is cut closest to APC Standard's.

Thanks

It's not really to do with how skinny the jeans are... zipper or button choice depends on the length of the frontal rise. If the rise is low, it's usually a zipper fly, higher rises in general have button flies

Self Edge x Iron Heart = SEXIH07 - BORN TUFF

The third collaboration between Self Edge and Iron Heart has been over a year in the making. This jean, designed by Diesel, went through multiple changes of fabrics and cuts until it's final iteration was conceived in a jean that would be not only a very versatile cut but in a fabric that would outlast anything else.

A heavyweight unsanforized denim which for the first time ever from Iron Heart ages with extreme contrast and great character that rivals the best Japanese denim available today. With a silhouette that Diesel designed to fit every body type we've decided to do these in a wide range of sizes due to it's extremely versatile fit.

We're very excited about the black version of this jean, the SEXIH07BK. This version of the SEXIH07 jean has been overdyed black with a fugitive pigment dye which is an unstable and un-permanent dye that fades to later show the indigo denim underneath. Essentially this is a denim that begins black and fades to indigo in high friction areas, or what the Japanese call the "atari" fade. This particular model is what we feel the most original and exciting fabric we've ever put into a jean.
Iron Heart released a set of overdyed jeans (using their flagship 21oz sanforized denim) four years ago, those turned out to be some of the best looking worn jeans we've ever seen from the few people that got their hands on a pair, we expect these to look even better considering what's underneath the dye.

Diesel says "THESE JEANS ARE BORN TUFF - RUFF RUFF"

The SEXIH07 and SEXIH07BK jeans will be released at Self Edge San Francisco & Self Edge New York at Noon (Local Time) on Saturday, December 5th.
The jeans will also be available online at 2pm (PST) the same day in the online store.

Check our online store for more information on this jean, a complete specification list, measurements, and hi-res photos:

That's a very arguable point. Many or the lowest rise jeans I've had are button fly. Somet 003 and Momotaro 0701, Skull 5010, PBJ 005.

I think the zip-fly on slim-fit thought was far more accurate to why a zip-fly is a practical solution. Anyone who's had a tight pair of Skull 5010 or even APC can attest to that...

just called self edge nyc and they don't carry the new flat head x Inazuma jeans... maybe kiya can help me with the sizing here?

i wear a 27 in the somet 003 and the waist fits great... blue in greene has the waist on the 003 listed as 29 inches, same as the waist posted for the size 28 inazumas. can you provide any insight as to sizing differences the between the two jeans?

thanks

You definitely need a size 28 in the Inazuma jeans, a few pairs left in that size in the online shop.
