looking for spats

Hi,

I am wondering where can one find spats such as these?

I think they are such a great fun when used sparingly to spice up looks, especially for the more adventurous kind!

If you want those spats in leather or suede, they will cost you a lot of money as they'll have to be made especially for you.

John Lobb (London) can make them in various styles (at a price)

or you can contact Anthony Delos.

You might want to get in touch with this shoemaker in Vienna, which should work out considerably cheaper:

'Google Images' comes up with more spats (although the majority appear to be in white).

The spats pictured look fabulous.

Aside from using for a costume, would someone provide suggested uses for such spats?

The OP is probably a welder and doesn't want the sparks to damage the 2" cuffs on his custom flannel pants.

There is no use for them aside from a costume, so if you wear them, know that you'll either be met with confusion, derision, or compliments. This is a two foot tall pink mohawk, so if you're going to wear it, do it with confidence.

(Back in the early 80's when my mother was a costume designer, she had dozens and dozens of pairs of spats in all sorts of great fabrics. Wonder whatever happened to them...)

Thanks for the responses, I guess these are really rare these days.

As for the usage, well, I was inspired by this particular look: http://swagger360.blogspot.com/2009/07/bonafide-swag.html
Though I guess it helps to be better than average looking, or being black. I'm not an MC material myself as I am working in the creative industry (in Singapore, and I'm Asian), but I have developed a liking on many of MC stuffs.

Thanks for the link. The usage shown (or suggested) in those photos are an abomination.

In the spirit of that Old Testament prophet persona (“an abomination”) you forgot to call for “fire and brimstone”.

I presume, tolerance and “live-and-let-live” aren’t' your strongest points.
