Tricker's Regent sizing

I was wearing Size UK 9, fit G, from Clarks' formal shoes, and going to buy Tricker's Regent.

Since there is not a Tricker's shop in the town I live, I have to buy it online.

the length of my feet is 276mm and width is 106mm,

Tricker's regent is Fitting F(medium), so should I choose a half size up?or which size will be better

Thanks in advance.

Generally speaking, Tricker's tends to run wide, so a (UK) 9.0-F (that's a '5' in Tricker's designation) should be a good starting point.

Many thanks.

I got a cm size of tricker's regent from a Japanese website.

185
439

this confused me, the width of UK size 9 is10.5cm and 9.5 is 10.9cm.

bump. Anyone else have a view on this? Any on width/instep/length comparisons to some other popular lasts would be great to hear. Is the last used on the Tricker's 1829 line like an elongated chisel (ie C&J 337) or is it a less elongated soft square (ie EG 606)?

It's a soft square similar to the 606. I don't think their city shoes run wide at all.

I have 4 pairs from the 1829 line on the 4537 last (2 x Kensington and 2 x Belgrave) and they are the widest shoes I own. I take wide fittings (F) in both EG and G&G and my Trickers are wider, despite 'F 'being their medium fitting. Much wider than 'F' on C&J 337 too.

Even more strange is that the Belgrave feel wider than the Kensington, even though they are the same size, last and fitting. Perhaps stylistic differences can also alter the fit?

Great value shoes (though perhaps not so much now after the recent price increases...)

Thanks for the comparison -- what size are you in the Trickers 4537 vs. C&J , EG and G&G (all of which I know my size)?

UK 9.5 in them all. I only have EG in the 888 last for which i take 'F' (wide) and G&G in the MH71 last, also 'F' (wide). IMO they are both still a much tighter fit than the Trickers 'F'.

thanks for ur reply. is the trickers uk 9.5 too large or wide for you?

I am wondering how's the wide of Kensington compared with Regent in same UK size 9.5.

Trickers Kensington and Regent are both on the same last which means they should be the same width.

Maybe he has the Kensington in suede which sometimes has a little more give than calf leather.

Yes, the Regent and Kensington are both on the same last and should have the same fit.

The difference in feel of width between my Belgrave and Kensington is pretty minimal but nontheless noticable; difficult to describe but maybe as the Kensington is a more detailed style with several parts of calf stitched together on the upper then perhaps this leads to a tighter feel??
