What is with one's lower back randomly going out early in the morning? I can spend an entire day doing strenuous labor, and no problem. In the early morning I can reach down to pick up a shoe and WHAM!!! Thank god for my chiropractor, Advil and Icy Hot.

I just picked this up and I am pretty pleased. Just what I expected. I am pleased with the Bark. However, I wish it was a little darker. A great deal for $35. Comparable to other belts in the...

Lower back going out, dammit!!

First like many law posts on here, I'll say none of this is medical advice. That's for the appropriate provider to dole out. I only wrote this to help get you, as a patient, thinking proactively about improving your condition...
Have you considered other opinions than visiting a chiropractor?.. If one looks at chiropractory's business model from internal literature and seminar's many are built around cracking backs based on nebulous diagnosis patterns. And most importantly, usually involves repeated visits (over potentially years), with little sight for ending of care.
Why not work within the medical model instead? This route inherently has much greater research to support their practice and higher practice standards in general.
This could be an actual physician (MD) who specializes in conservative musculoskeletal called physiatrists (Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation docs). They can be a good gateway within the medical model for conservative treatment of your low back pain. They may suggest various options for things such as injections, physical therapy (Helpful to check if the PT is orthopaedic specialized), and possibly ortho surgeon referral or low-grade pain meds.
However, make sure you avoid a pill mill docs out to make a buck. Most docs are highly ethical, but if you look at some of the shortcomings in recent years down in Florida, it shows any profession can have some bad apples. Also, if you look at trends with surgery for many pathologies of low back pain, many studies show lackluster data for effectiveness.
The point of this post isn't to tell you the right way to seek help for your problem. Moreso, to talk to you about your other options than just seeing a chiropractor, whose profession works outside the medical model. Insurance may be more helpful in payments here too.
Ultimately, you'd likely get the best advice that route than SF Health & Body can ever likely provide.
