The Tailors' Thread: Fit Feedback and Alteration Suggestions - Page 449

I've spoilered some pictures of a Spier & Mackay MTM shirt. This is after a full workday, so it's a bit wrinkled, but also settled into how the shirt generally looks throughout the day.

I feel that, while the neck size is accurate, or maybe even too large (I can fit four fingers between the collar and my neck), my actual neck is further back than the shirt's neck, causing it to feel tight. I'm also a shorter guy at around 5'7", and it seems like the neckband is too tall on me, going past the hairline in back. Could the collar be moved back and down? Also, thought on the appropriateness of this collar for my stature?

The chest, waist and bottom are slightly snug only when seated, causing a very slight amount of pulling. The length of the shirt could stand to be a bit longer to prevent the shirt from becoming untucked. The shirt does not fall cleanly from my chest to my midsection. Will increasing the midsection to reduce the taper accomplish anything here?

The shoulders were corrected for sloping and forward posture. It looks like they may need further adjustment. Both sleeves seem slightly long: the left cuff can't be taken in much more because I'm wearing a watch and only two fingers fit between the watch and shirt, but I can fit four fingers in the right cuff before it is snug, so maybe the length should remain and the cuff circumference should be reduced.

Any comments on my thoughts or recommendations?

Hi, this is my second luxire shirt. Can someone recommend me what to fix for my next order. I know I need to lengthen the sleeve. How do I get the shirt to drape cleanly from the chest to the waist. How do I fix the bunching/little poof by the waist. Do I increase the waist or decrease the front waist. Many thanks.

Sorry I forgot to add this photo. For some reason when I unbutton the collar button I get a horizontal pull by the 2nd button as shown in the attached photo, but when it is button up it doesn't appear. How do you fix this? I was told by the luxire people to increase my shoulder slope by 0.25" for my first shirt which I did, so idk if that matters or it had cause this issue. Also is there anyway to get reduce the fabric near the chest area as circle in the attached photo. Would reducing the back width help a little? Thanks again

The roll can be eliminated by lowering the collar.  The wrinkles at the back of the sleeves requires rotating the sleeves.

Ok, so the pulling near the 2nd button as shown in the photo is cause by the chest being too tight and not the shoulder slope, just wanna make sure before placing another order?  How much should the chest be increased, 0.50"? How come when I buttoned the collar button the pulling disappear.

Also if I were to increase the waist in front would that help it drape more cleanly from the chest to the waist. Thanks again.

add and 1" to the chest and drop the armhole
sleeve is a little too trim
there is something odd going on with this shirt body.

Is it because of the measurements, too tapered? Shoulders are at 17.75", chest 41.00" (37 chest), waist 34.00", bottom hem 37.00" if that matters. Luxire people also told me to reduce only the back panel waist by 0.75" along with adding dart for this shirt. I have a hollow back.

too much taper from chest to waist

i would guess the hip is also a bit small

try
41
36 then add darts
38

This is my first shirt from Luxire. Based on these pictures, how is the fit?

Just wonderng(and this mighr be the wrong place for it)

However, how much would it typically cost to alter working cuffs on a jacket?

not a tailor but you need to describe more explicitly what you need. Add working buttonholes to a jacket sleeve? Lengthen or shorten the sleeves if they already have working buttonholes? By how much? If you are shortening, how much distance from the last button to the end of the sleeve?

Hello,

I screwed up some measurements of my shirt. Additionaly, the sleeves are way larger than I would have expected.

Supplier propose alterations.
However, I would appreciate additionnel feedback so we do better next time.

Many thanks!

Fred

Hi,
Linen pants made by Luxire. Please give feed back.
I think too tight over hips, fly pull open easily and slight pocket flare. Upper thigh abit tight, especially posterior part.
Inseam at crotch could be increased to get abit tighter fit at crotch and to get the legs to look longer.
