Shirt sleeve length isn't long enough to be showing, might consider shortening the jacket sleeve length just a tad and lengthen the shirt.

The buttons seem to be quite high on the jacket, which creates a shortening effect even though the jacket length is actually fine.

Can anyone help me figure out what's wrong with this jacket?  I can't put my finger on it, but I know there's something off.

I ordered a shirt off of luxire. I feel that the sleeve width was a bit wide and the legnth a bit long so was thinking maybe decreasing these measurement by 0.25-0.5". I also felt that it was baggy around the waist/back area and decreasing that measurement by about 0.5". Also, any idea how to get rid of the bunching up around the shoulders?

TIA

Anyone? Would appreciate the help....

What i see is the back looking a bit short, you can see in the profile view how it just pulls up at the centre back.
Also, the vent is pulling open a tidge.
The fronts could use a bit more of reduction below the pocket, which translates into a larger dart horizontally at the pocket, making the front hang more vertically below your waist.
Definitely a pattern stage adjustment, not a finished coat change
You have a dropped shoulder which makes the sleeve lengths look a bit off.

How do you avoid the "Flying Squirrel" or "Wings" look that appears as below:

^ Larger sleeve width.

@teknique22 I have the same problem and I'm thinking it might be due to a too wide yoke in combination with a narrow waist. Hopefully someone more knowledgeable can

chime in:

@Shirtmaven?

@Ttailor?

@ballmouse Could you please elaborate how a larger sleeve width would help? I'm thinking a wider sleeve would likely mean a larger arm hole and an even worse flying squirrel syndrome?

Hey all...

I was wondering, does the button placement on this jacket look to be off and is there anything that can be done about it?  It bothered me, but I'm not sure that it is actually wrong or a big deal.  I've seen buttons close to the pocket but not overlap.

Well it certainly wasn't a well thought out design decision at the pattern stage. I think it is wrong, the breast pocket should be higher , but you cannot do anything about it now.

I appreciate the feedback.  I haven't purchased it yet.  I wasn't sure if it was just me who thought it was off or if it was something people would really notice.  I've seen many jackets where it is close to the pocket -as in rendering the pocket semi useless - but at least like .5" off of it.

Not sure what is going on with the ridge around the neck.
Sleeve looks skimpy from elbow to wrist, needs more width not less. Length - Might be a bit long, fix width issue first.
