Tailors, what shears do you guys use? I am looking for something that can cut very thick material with as little squeezing and distortion as possible. Currently use Fiskars RazorEdge and looking to upgrade.

Just picked up this suit from Spier & Mackay. Wanted to get some thoughts on overall fit. I could think waist suppression for the jacket, and perhaps sizing down in the pants? Thanks!

Interested in getting some thoughts on the fit of this shirt

Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk

sleeves to short..
yoke much too wide by at least 1" each side

What's the solution then off the rack? Size down the neck?

Hi, apologize in advance for not tucking in my shirt, was in a hurry. This is my first suitsupply product, Havana plain navy jacket in a 34r. I was wondering how is the fit? There is something wrong with the lower back ( wrinkles, excess fabrics?). Could the wrinkle in the lower back be caused by the vents being closed? Also there are some vertical lines in the upper back... is that because its a little big on the back/ excess fabrics? How does the shoulders look from the back, is it okay? I was was wondering if I should nip the waist in the front a little to show some shape or use a little waist supression? Thanks

What do you guys think about the fit of this suit? 40r Napoli from SuitSupply. I have a 40" chest, 34" waist, am 5'11", and weigh about 175 lbs. I know the suit needs some alteration, but do you believe it is the correct size, or should I purchase a size down? The side vents are still stiched closed, so I'm hoping that is what's causing most of the bunching in the back. Thanks!

There are too many issues to fix here. Return the suit and look around. Try other brands and sizes within the brands.
Your posture seems very hips forward, you can see it in the side view- front balance is short, and looks too big in the lower front, back balance is long, the trouser legs are draping off your calves.
The more narrow the leg of the trouser the more this will show, so keep that in mind.

Dear TTailor, you commented about the duck canvas trousers, that they were to tapered. I after a clean fall so I will increase the hem width with 0.25 or 0.5".
Do you think the knee width has to be increaed also? There is some tucking of fabric around the knees.
The seat feels large I am thinking about decreasing rise at croch back and front with 0.25" and the half hip messurement.

The pictures below is my first order and the duck canvas the second. I provide all pictures again.
The duck canvas rise is 1" more in the front and 1.25" in back, half hip increased with 0.25".

I also wonder what you think about the shirt. Luxire think It should be adjusted for sloping shoulders and "We also need to adjust the curve of the sleeve cap at the front to remove diagonal lines appearing on top of the sleeve head."

I really appreciate your feedback and I try to absorb all knowledge I can overcome!

Hem circumference increase of .25 or .5 is probably not enough. How much? It is hard to say. At least and inch maybe more?
Probably leave the knee alone.
Leave rise as is. If the seat feels large changing the rise will not help. Check your own hip measurment and your waist measurement, or better yet, get someone to measure you.
Decreasing the hip may or may not give you better results, it depends on the basic pattern they use and how they manipulate it. I am not fond of very many of the trouser cuts I see, cut too much shape in the hips like women's trousers, and also trying to cut suit trousers as tight as jeans without modifying the pattern correctly. Just mt take on it.
Shirt changes seem correct.

Can't tell from the photos? Is it because of the photos size.. you have to click on it to enlarge or is it because the position/angle the photos was taken?

So what is the best option for guys with big hips in relation to the waist? Higher rise + pleats so the waist fits, but trousers still drape over the hips?
