The Tailors' Thread: Fit Feedback and Alteration Suggestions - Page 292

Sorry for the bad pictures but I'm getting these parabolic wrinkles from under my arms to the vent. I have $700 sunk into this coat so far, which my tailor assured me could be fixed, so I'm determined to get the damn thing right. There is no pulling in the front at all so that leads me to believe that it's a drape issue.

In my examining of her work it appears as those she raised the vent about 1" and let out the sides the width of a thumbnail right below the arm, tapering back to the original seam at the vent opening.

My question is, can it be fixed and how?

Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)

Not sure what you are trying to "fix"

do you want the vent to hang straight?

The coat presses into my back when I wear it despite having enough room everywhere. Like it's tilted the wrong way. I'm guessing if the collar is lowered that will change the tilt and fix it.

I'd appreciate any comments on the fit of these odd trousers. Once I get the fit right I want to use the same measurements for suit trousers. Cheers!

I'm looking for everyone's advice on how these 2 suit jackets fit. I'm mainly concerned about the shoulders as I think everything looks pretty decent overall, but it seems a bit tight from the side view of the shoulders. I'm 5'8 150lbs, decent athletic build and I am wearing a 38R. I will be bringing these suits to the tailor, so no worries about minor adjustments. I wear about a size 29 waist, so I am not sure if a tailor can take care of the size 32 pants it came with. Any suggestions welcome!!!

LOL. I was in a rush this morning. Cropped the pics hoping no one would notice. How does the jacket look though?

Had time to take horrible (ineffective for fit critique) selfie, edit it, crop it, and post it to tailor's thread.

Did not have time to put on pants.

:puzzled:

I'm going to be posting some photos of four suits I've just thrifted, and two, perhaps three, need the pant legs slimmed down.  I was going to get my wife to try pinning them for me, so that I can get a good idea of what I want, for when I go to the tailor's.  Should they be reduced from the inseam, or from both the inseam, and outer seam?  Or is this something that will vary, depending on what the fit problems are?

Thanks in advance!
