Double-breasted:

Again very nice suit!

Jacket would look better a bit shorter and the trousers a bit longer.

It does not look too big at all, it actually fits you perfectly.

Normally it is very hard to make jackets shorter, however, this jackets seems to have enough space.

And the trousers are definitely too short.

The sleeve length looks fine to me and the jackets fits you really well.

Very nice suit by the way!

trousairs are not too short, I mean.. I wear them the same lenght is a choice smile.gif

I understand what you mean, however, it highly depends on the width of the trousers.

In my opinion with this width they are too short.

But like you say, it is a matter of preference.

Question: How much can you take in, on the trousers?

Hello All :}

So I purchased a suit that claims to be Anderson and Sheppard, from eBay. I am not much of an eBayer, and I am also not cash rich. So when I saw a nice looking navy blue suit, with no pictures of labels, or even the hint of a brand name, I thought I would enquire with the seller. I was told that the suit is Anderson and Sheppard, and so thought, why not, a steal at the advertised price...

Anyhow tt was advertised as:

Navy Single Breasted Bespoke Suit with Extra Trousers

Create the right impression with this unworn bespoke suit worth £1800.

 Quick sale, uncollected suit.

100% wool

Jacket

  • Shoulder 33
  • Length 32
  • Chest 42
  • Waist 38
  • Sleeves 25 1/2

Trousers

  • Waist 36
  • Outside leg 42
  • Inside leg 33

The suit has arrived and it is an incredibly small 42 chest, and an an even smaller 38 waist. So much so that I am unable to raise my hand, bending at the elbow, past my waist. It has been suggested that the suit could be altered, particulatly at the shoulders and I have asked how much room there is to let out however no response.

Please may I enquire, does anyone know how much room there may be to let out in this suit, before I begin the discussions about returning it? I appreciate my question may not be met a straight forward answer...

That's exactly what the seller was thinking. What a steal.

I have made the same mistake as you, in the past. I bought Nudie jeans off Ebay for a fraction of the price of real Nudie jeans. Guess what, they were fake and the sizing was fucked.

Hopefully you can salvage this suit!

It also depends on the trousers.

You can taper the upper leg and/or the lower leg.

I usually do both and taper the lower leg to a width of 18/19 cm with 4 cm turn-ups (normally with trousers with a width of 20/21 cm).

Don't taper your trousers too much though, this will mess up the model.

It is best to discuss this with your tailor.

That is why I asked, cause - this is one of the not so fun parts of fitness - I saw a Brioni suit on ebay, the suit has the 20" from shoulder seam to shoulder seam that I need, but as you can guess the trouser is as big as hell haha. I think it's 37 or something like that. I'm bulking right now so I'm 185 cm (6'1") and 89kg (192lb), and I would need that trouser to be 33" at least on the waist. The good part of this is that legs could have a lot of room. I'm asking cause I will like to keep bulking for a few more months and then cut. But I have a graduation to attend so I want a cheap suit that it doesn't hurt me when I cut back and can't use it. biggrin.gif

well to take away a size (maybe 3\4th of a size) on waist is possible and doesnt' destroy the trousairs... as for the bottom of the pants I'd tell you to be carefull on the calf just as much as on the knee, that's where mine are exageratet at least... first time I'll wear it (when it gets hotter as if I put soxs on If I sit i've 10 inchees of sox visible biggrin.gif) I'll post some pics so you can all see what NOT to do with a suit shog[1].gif

I mean I'm young is normal to make mistakes first times right ? :p
