I just received my first custom shirt from Modern Tailor. What do you guys think about the fit?

Can someone help me figure out whether the shoulders of this suit are not well suited for me?
I've included a picture of me in the jacket, if anyone could take a look and critique, would be appreciated.
Sleeves are too short and will have to be lengthened.
Picture LOOKS OFF because my friend took it while he was sitting down.
Thanks.

Shoulders look good, maybe one size smaller at most, but then it may be to small. I would keep them. you definitely need a suit with longer sleeves though.

Just got a new suit.  Please can you comment on the fit, particularly on the shoulders, chest, and backside jacket.  I would like to accurately describe to my alterations tailor what needs to be done to make it better.

Thank you.

hi pogiguy

is this suit a rtw or a m2m?
its not tpo bad. sleeve length is ok.
its too tight across the butt. that needs to be let out.
the sleeve should be rotated forward in the armhole to relieve the
strain that is causing the lines of draw .
it may help but i think the sleeves are too narrow.
and there is no cure for that.
on the trousers. the the waist band could be lowered 1/2" unless
the crotch is already too high.
on the seat seam
, the seat could be scooped out, see tutorials on this.
tutorial "uncomfortable trouser butt" item C.

the jacket looks great from the front.
tin back the blades could loose some cloth by the armholes.
too bad you dropped your head . the profile can tell us if the balance is right.
is this a r t w or a m2m?

Sorry for bothering you so much lately but here's the outcome of my latest MTM jacket after shifting the shoulders:

The shoulders are now located where they should be (they didn't account for my low shoulder, though), and I don't want to have this jacket altered any more, just in case it gets messed up; I'm rather happy with the outcome. But for future commissions I'd like to play with measurements to make the jacket more flattering, so it would be interesting to know if there's something I can do to make the hips appear less wide. My tailor is pretty good at cutting and sewing but he doesn't seem to be that good of a fitter. As you can see, my right deltoid is protruding a bit from the sleeve; that way you can see the actual shape of my shoulders, and I'm wondering if you can see room there for extending them a bit  (maybe half, or 3/4 of an inch) without looking awkward? Perhaps they would need to have a bit more slope as well.

Thanks!

if you decide to make the shoulders wider, dont go over 1/2 inch.

shoulders look good.
could use just a bit of shaping at the waist.

Hi tailors,

with almost all of my suits and SCs I have some serious wrinkling on the arms.

This picture shows my new suit, a Suitsupply Jort. I am pretty pleased with the fit on the body. The arms are too long, as I have them not finished yet. What do I need to tell my tailor to fix this problem?

Thanks in advance.

Hello tailors,

This is a project I'm currently having with a local dressmaker, who doesn't have that much experience on mens jackets. The jacket is unconstructed. Sleeve lenght might be a tad short, but there are some things more confusing to me. There is clearly some extra behind the armholes. The right shoulder is frankly very low. As the right shoulder is also thrusting forward a bit, it seems that it rotates the jacket to left side to compensate the room. What fixes you would suggest to fix the jacket?

Thank you

This one is from Thick as Thieves:

it seems like the pants are too long on each suit

or you need to wear the pants a little higher

Hi a tailor,

Thanks for your feedback.  This is my first effort at Internet MTM.

Unfortunately, my sleeves are narrow-- they came that way, I did not include a measurement of my biceps or arms.  Please could you elaborate what you mean by "rotate the sleeves forward"?  I am afraid if I use those exact words to the alterations tailor, he will not know what I mean and I will be unable to articulate further.

Regards,

Pogiguy

Most tailors should get that.

What it means is that the sleeves need to be removed from the body of the suit and reattached at an angle that matches the natural angle of your arms.

Small town in Finland doesn't flood with tailors and can't even find any RTW size 36s from here to try on.

Unconstructed, the price pretty much equals the cost of RTW so it is pretty much the best option available.

Hi,

I am new to the forum and posted these fit pics a several days ago but didn't get any reply, so maybe they just go lost in the shuffle.

I'm looking for advise on how to clean up the back of this jacket. This is a RTW canvased suit. My tailor is saying he needs to take in some fabric behind the arms to remove the vertical and diagonal lines. Is this correct or is this less and issue of too much fabric and more a matter of compensating for the slope of my shoulders? In that case would it be best to take in some material from the back, at the top of the shoulders? I also want to get rid of the fold in front of the arm on the chest, is this simply a matter of taking in some fabric at the armhole?

(I am also having the sleeve pitch corrected on the left arm and a little on the right)

Any help you could provide would be wonderful. If you need different photos let me know what you would like to see and I'll take them.

Thank you

the sleeve is not hanging at the same angle that your hangs.
the sleeve must be removed, then returned so that it matches the angle that your arms hang.
but, the sleeves should be shortened before changing the sleeve angle.

your shirt sleeves are also too long.
that makes it difficult to get the correct coat sleeve length.

we could have used more than one view.
meaning side and back.
