Staple suit from Kent Wang.

It's a bit tight over the waist and chest area, and I'm curios if it may be a bit wide in the shoulder (unsure about how to determine this). The sleaves are a maybey 2-3 cm long.

Any suggestions, tips and critique would be apreiciated.

Got a new jacket from Howard Yount and need to decide whether to keep. I think this is as best as I can get in a RTW jacket, but wanted to check with you guys. No alternations have been done yet. Some of my thoughts:

The shoulders look good to me in front but look big from the back. Is this normal?
Will it be easy for a tailor to fix the fullness in the back? I have a 38 chest and 30 waist so I think I'll have this problem with any jacket.
Is there something that can be done about the ripples at the back of the sleeves?

Ordered a MTM suit from Black Lapel and there seems to be a collar gap that's extremely visible. I've included pictures compared to another one of my suit for comparison.

Should I ask for a remake? Is it possible to bring it to the tailor and fix it inexpensively? And what measurements should I change if they do allow me for a remake.

Bumping down the black magic.

If you want it fit like it was made for you, it's a lot of work. Remove the sleeves,open the shoulders and shorten the back from the top of the shoulder to change the balance to have a shorter back, longer front. The fronts are hiking up now due to erect posture. Reduce the blades on the back and shape the waist. Reshape the sleeves and attach.

Don't see any reason to taper the body. The shoulder looks wide from the back and would look huge if you tapered the body. Tapering the sleeves is not necessary.

The no collar gap jacket looks much better and not just the collar. The fronts hang better and don't cross over like the other. Would have to see other pictures to diagnose how to fix but you need the neck hole/ yoke narrowed and the collar shortened.

Thanks for the reply. I don't need it to look like bespoke, just good for RTW. I'll ask my tailor about fixing the balance, but that's not a deal-breaker in my view. As for the rest of the jacket, it sounds like I don't need anything complicated, just the back blade and waist area taken in, and the sleeve pitch corrected?

You can have as much or as little fixed as you want but you have to remove the sleeves and shortening the back is easy to do at that point. Just reducing the back and blades won't correct the diagonal lines on the back or lift the back off your hips. Would make both worse to not raise the back. Correct balance will give you a better fit and look to the jacket. Fixing the sleeves is much more complicated and time consuming than the shoulder work.

It's like when they used to change timing belts on cars and would suggest changing the water pump at the same time because it was accessible and easy to do.

If anyone has comments on the viability of this jacket, I would much appreciate it.

This tuxedo had waist suppression done but I'm not very happy with the fit as I rushed to have it for an event. It feels off even but I am at a loss as to how I want it done differently. The shoulder, back, and underarm just feel off. I plan to take it to another tailor, and I'm hoping it is within the realm of being correctable. Preparing the photos is the first time I've actually seen the back. Thanks!






It is photos like below that really make the jacket seem especially "off." My novice thought on the sleeve in this particular shot is it catching on the french cuff rather than a pitch problem, but I kindly defer to the experts here.

M2M suit ordered online. The fit is off, any suggestions on what to get altered.

To start, looks like the shoulders of the jacket are sticking out beyond your own shoulders. Do you not like showing that much shirt cuff?

Anyone have thoughts on this blazer? I've been told it could be a bit shorter, and I guess I can see that. Thanks

If a shorter jacket is to your taste, that's one thing, but there's nothing wrong with the length of this jacket. It does, however, seem to be pulling at the button and the lapels appear to be bowing as well.
