The Tailors' Thread: Fit Feedback and Alteration Suggestions - Page 92

I seem to have gotten lost in the shuffle. Looking at this again, I think the shoulders need some work too; they seem a bit uneven. Thanks!

I'm a little over 6', 165 lbs. Tailor wanted to go with bigger pants but I opted for a skinnier version; not sure if the best decision.

Many thanks in advance!

Can't see anything to comment about. Suit just looks too dark on the screen.

can only see an outline and no details. but the outline looks ok.
over 6 foot , 165 lbs and you want to look skinnier yet.?
your tailor was right the skinny pant makes you look bow legged.
also those pants make the feet look bigger than they are.

sorry dont mean to be nasty but thats how it looks.

Hey everyone, this is my second attempt at posting pictures for feedback.  I just want to make sure the shoulders fit correctly.  I believe they do, but I am always paranoid about looking out of proportion.  Any feedback would be much appreciated.

These pictures are not up to the task. Full-length shots, well lit (even a bit overexposed if it's a dark cloth), and straight on from about ten feet away if you can get someone to take the picture.

On my tv monitor it doesn't show either, but on my TN-panel LED Samsung SyncMaster it shows perfectly well. Thus I'd suggest increasing the brightness, at least temporarily (or just change the preset).
There seems to be a problem with the break (much more break on his right leg), I guess he's got a hip/low hip or so. But I let the pros continue.

Edit: I suck at postprocessing, so I've just raised the brightness a fuckton and lowered the contrast. Colors are off now and it might look a little weird, but at least you can see something now, I guess.

Bump. Any comments on the pics behind the spoiler functionality below? Sorry about the lighting, only spot in my flat where it's possible to get a white background has a lamp directly above it...

So, what could be done to improve the fit (apart from shortening the pants which are obviously too long)?

Thanks for the picture fix! Was gonna do the same when I got home later... +1 rep!

I'll have to take a closer look at the pants. I know he measured both my legs so he should have caught a low hip.

No worries about being mean/nasty; that's why I'm here! So, I'll go with wider pants on the next one to avoid big foot and bowed legs. Any comments on the jacket with the brightened up pics? Thanks again.

So I just got 2 suits from Suit Supply in the mail and was wondering for some feedback on which one (if either) I should keep and have tailored.

I'm 6'1", 150lbs with a smaller chest and narrow shoulders, so finding jackets that fit is tough for me. I originally tried a 38L but it was way too big in the shoulders, so now I have a 36R and 38R.

Here's the 36:

And here's the 38:

First of all, I know that the sleeves are way too short in both. Mainly what I'm wondering which looks like a better fit in the shoulders and chest. And apologies about all the wrinkles in the back, they kind of got smushed in the mail. Thanks.

yes wider but dont go huge. but then if you do go too wide you can always taper the legs.
eventually you will hit on what looks good on you.

Hi,

Just picked up this jacket on sale at the Saks 5th outlet and am debating whether to return it or not.  It will depend on how extensive the alterations  will be.  I'm well aware the sleeves are too long, but how does everything else look?  Does it fit me well or would you return it?  It's a Saks brand, fully canvassed made in USA Loro Piana 120s fabric.  I have a feeling it's too long?

so I am 17 and am saving for college so I am on a really tight budget, I outgrew my old suit and need a new one for a thing called youth in government I am joining. By scouring thrift stores I was able to come up with some things that will form the basis of my formal wardrobe, the only problem is they need a lot of work :/

first up is this burberry blazer, the sleeves need to be lengthened and there is a small hole in the back but that is kind of a good thing because the lady discounted it to $7 XD also I am thinking about nipping the waist a bit, any thoughts?

the pants are 1/2 of a brooks brothers suit and they have some issues, they are too short and too small in the waist, so I need to let out the cuff and the waist (there is fabric for the waist to be let out because originally the waist was 34 but the previous owner tailored it down to a 31)

this picture is weird because it makes the pants look really skinny, trust me they are not

next up is the full brooks brothers suit I got for $7.50 which is even cheaper than the blazer if it was a full suit!

I need to lengthen the sleeves on the jacket of course but what I really want to do is change it's button stance from a 2 button to a 4 button I held it there myself and it looked really sharp and much less dated than a 6 button 2I have heard of this being done before do you know how easy/expensive it is?
