Never had a need to. Not sure what the result would be. Can't imagine it would be too different from normal calf. I could be wrong though..

nope, i thought, when shoes look like this, it's called patina.

actually, i like the "improved" look on my shoes. i want them to look worn. so i can see the evolution from the new ones to the old dogs.

I've always thought of patina as the natural darkening of the leather through use - not a build up of wax / whatever else. Horses for course I suppose but I prefer them "un-gunked" as it were smile.gif

i dunno, if mine are gunked. you just brought it up to me with your description of the little spot displayed in the op.

Ahh. That's still there (the "after" photo was the same spot on the other shoe) smile.gif

wow, you are doing a lot of effort for me. i appreciate this. you're welcome.

unfortunately, i have to disappoint you in one aspect. i prefer the before condition. that's a personal preference.

imo, you can see, that the shoes have been stripped down, which is not a good thing for my sentiment. you see, i'm very picky in my own way.

just for the statistics. i buy used shoes from time to time also. i also started to "play" with the old dogs.

most important: the process has to be enjoyable. the result satisfying.

i can see both parameters fulfilled. congrats
