Adventures in amateur clothes-making (pictorial)

Documentation of my adventures in amateur clothes making continued... The last pair of pants that finished over the summer is this grey plaid cotton pair:

My buttonholes are slowly improving, but still mainly serve as a reminder about how much room for improvement there is...

This time I did an on-seam pocket with hand pick-stitching on the pocket and fly:

The process of pockets, waistband, closures, etc. still looks pretty amateurish, but is going a lot more smoothly:

Hand stitched blind hem as usual (I'll probably go with cuffs on the next pair):

Although the picture is of poor quality, it gives you a general idea of the fit:

And a little sneak peek of what I'm currently working on:

Hope you enjoy the pics and maybe feel inspired!

Awesome! (They look like they fit well too)

How'd you get into it?

I just got a cheap sewing machine and started doing my own alterations - I also started to read whatever I could find online whether from respected books on tailoring or just the odd home sewers website. It's a little time consuming and it requires patience, but I really enjoy it!
