Replacing a pre-hung door... Advice.

The apartment I am thinking of moving into, the ensuite bathroom is accessible through a walk-through closet from the bedroom, which has two doors, one from bedroom-closet and one closet-bathroom.

The previous tenant removed the closet-bathroom door and the landlord has no idea where they put it. I would like to replace the door. I am assuming it is pre-hung since it is a fairly new high-rise.

What is the recommended way to replace the door? How probable would it be able to buy a pre-hung door and just take it out of its frame and slip it into place or do they vary widely from manufacturer to manufacturer? Or would I likely have to buy a slab door and plane it down/hang it?

I don't have access to the unit and unfortunately didn't get measurements for the door.

Thanks

Possible, but not probable. If you can get the measurements and manufacturer you will be in a better position to know.

Wouldn't it be easier to just measure Width, Depth and Height and head down to a hardware store? Putting hinges on a door isn't that tough.
