Things I must try in Amsterdam

Have breakfast / brunch at Bazar on Albert Cuypstraat. Costs something like eight euros and it's a feast. Plus as a bonus the place is an old mosque and the interior will make your head swirl.

1. suranamese food. I always eat it in Amsterdam, you can't get it anyplace else pretty much. there are a bunch around town, not expensive,
2. eat at an automat - they are around town. crokettes of several different types.
3. frittes with mayonase and sate sauce
4. red light district. even if you don't partact, it is an expereince to see it. when I was single, I used to visit every now and again. but, even if you don't use, highly recomeneded just to see all the weird shit
5. see a "live show" in the red light district. freaky
6. cheese. lots and lots of cheese
7. see a movie in the theatre off Rebraintplien
8. just hang out and watch the buskers at lightplien
9. indonesian food, rice table
10. hang out at cafes (not coffee shops, caffees)
11. coffee shops. enjoy the pot.

Red light district is pretty happening....seeing all the prostitutes is kinda crazy (lots of creepy dudes). And the weed rocks too. The Heineken factory is a pretty sweet experience too.

Leidseplein
One of Amsterdam's biggest centres for nightlife with many restaurants, cafés and clubs.

Street musicians, jugglers, fire-eaters and other performers make the square a lively place until the early hours.

The square developed in the 17-th century as a wagon park for farmers and peasants to leave their carts here before entering the city centre. The name is because of Leidsepoort, which once marked the end of the main road from Amsterdam to Leiden. Nowadays, Leidseplein is a busy tram intersection and centre of night-time transport.

Leidseplein is one of Amsterdam's popular centers for nightlife, with theatres, lots of cafes, restaurants, cinemas, the casino, the Lido theatre with live entertainment and music centre's Paradiso and Melkweg. Street musicians, jugglers, fire-eaters and other performers make the square a lively place until the early hours, especially on warm summer evenings, when you can get there also a henna tattoo.

At night, the square is the meeting point for youth, who hang out in the clubs and cinemas around. It is also popular with pickpockets as well with drunk groups of tourists.

theres this open air market with the greatest ham pea soup ever. if you can find it, your head will explode. not much of a description, sorry. its been awhile since ive been there, but in the middle of december, that was my best experience in amsterdam
