Proper Way to Roll a Necktie

This is a pretty simple thread, but I just wanted to get some opinions on the best way to roll a necktie (as this has been the primary way I've been storing my neckties these days). Basically, I wrap the tie, narrow end first, loosely around my palm. The end result is a loose-ish roll with a decent sized donut hole in the center. I have seen wrapped ties that seem to have a cleaner appearance without the donut hole. I wanted to make sure I'm not missing something here...

As long as its not hanging, I'm pretty sure the exact method is unfuckupable.

OK, but for the non-knits, there's nothing wrong with hanging a tie? Just seeing if I've just learned another way in which I'm doing this wrong from SF or not....

I seem to have messed a tie or two up as when rolled, the fold at the tip bulges. Solutions? And on side or sit flat?

Edit. Double post.

Knits got me started on rolling. I have about 40 ties still hanging, but I stopped buying tie racks and have been rolling all my silks. There's nothing wrong with rolling a silk, right? I've read that rolling is always preferred for long term storage because of wrinkling at the crease for silks (not that this is that big of a deal as you shouldn't see it/it should dewrinkle). Regardless, as I go forward, I've just been adding drawers of rolled ties (silk or knit). As long as I'm doing the right thing with the storage method, I'm happy.

Fold in half with the narrower end slightly shorter than the wider end, roll onto itself, place in box. Done.
