Please define "Evening Casual Attire" for men. Thanks!

Could mean virtually anything, depending on context...

It's at a country club.

This isn't 20 questions. Tell us everything that you know about the event. They someone might be able to help. If you just give three words and assume you'd have an encyclopaedia thrown at you, you may have to rethink.

What kind of event? Awards? Celebrations? Party? Dinner? Wedding?

Location? You say country club, where? Arizona? The Italian Rivera? Sweden?

How long will it last? A 2 hour meal? An 8-till-late regatta?

How much time do you have? Do you need a shirt and tie tonight, or can you have a garment made bespoke in the next 3 months?

For the love of God, if you want help, then give us something to work with!

Sorry folks. Here's the background. High school reunion. It's at a country club in the USA. It'll be an "8pm until late" type of deal. Evening Casual Attire. I won't need to buy any clothes. Just need to understand the general concept of "evening casual attire" in this context. Thanks.

No such thing, if it's casual then it hardly matters what time of day it is.

Another cop-out clothing description, they have to 'casual' to avoid scaring off the non-SF crowd, but 'evening' to avoid the flip-flop crowd.

Translation: Don't wear black tie, but don't look like a slob.

Bust out the long sleeve nautica polo shirt . . . .

Chinos and a navy blazer. Suit with no tie. Dark jeans and a sport coat.

Basically I would say anything that you might wear to church or a nice dinner with your wife.

So between "Suit with no tie" and "blazer dress shirt and odd trousers with no tie" -- what is the better approach in this context?

Thats a personal call.

I personally like to wear a suit because I'm a reasonably fit 22 year old who wears jeans to work. If you a 50 year old who lives in a suit then a sport coat might be a nice break.

Its a personal style, there is no right or wrong answer.

I'd go suit with no tie; I would assume there will be males there in suit and tie.

About what you would wear on a date, I would think. Nice jeans, nice shirt, sweater or sport coat. Tie with the sweater, but perhaps not with the sport coat. Sub chinos for the jeans. Wool trousers perhaps, but stay away from the sportcoat and go with a sweater. Nice leather shoes whatever you wear. Interesting socks.

I, for one, don't like the "suit with no tie" look if the suit in question is a conservative business suit. If it is a casually styled suit, it can be quite dashing.

Just my $.02.

Wear a tie with a button down collared shirt and blazer/sc. If you're the only guy in the room sporting neckwear, retire to the men's room, remove it and put it carefully into a pocket. Rejoin the festivities and get your partyboi on.
