"He [Attwood] displayed a love of the grand Romantic gesture. Huge sound, high emotion, and an instinct for sharply etched color. He also is a pianist of impressive technique, a player who can rattle off scalar figurations with aplomb and dazzle and still make room in his palette for the simplicity of the thematic line..."
Koji Attwood received a Bachelor of Music degree from the Curtis Institute of Music, where he studied with Seymour Lipkin, and a Master of Music degree from The Juilliard School under Jerome Lowenthal. He recently earned his Doctor of Musical Arts degree at Juilliard, where he continued his studies with Mr. Lowenthal.

Quite enjoyable. Congratulations. Just curious, what piano was used? I wasn't familiar with Bortkiewicz. Thanks for sharing.

Glad you enjoyed the piece; it was on a rather nice Steinway D (circa 1970's from my estimation).

That's really awesome, Koji. I'd never listened to Bortkiewicz before and I really enjoyed it. Keep posting your concert dates because one of these days I'd love to see you perform.

Because in 15 years of going to concerts and reading bios, I've never seen the word "clarity" used for anyone BUT Koji Attwood.
