Definitely no expert on this subject - I always thought that was the widely used name. Am here to learn as always - so what are they?

They're galosh-topped boots but commonly called 'button boots'.

Ridiculous.

I agree that the colour and the making are not of the best.

On what occasion would one wear these, other than in some sort of role as an insane street prophet heralding an apocalypse envisioned by William. S. Burroughs or P.T. Barnum?

That, or they are a bespoke order for a pimp named Butterscotch; one or the other.

Yes, agreed. They would look a lot better if the lower part of the boot were a chestnut brown or mahogany, and the upper part was made from chocolate suede, or perhaps from a glen plaid fabric with leather backing.

They'd still look outrageously anachronistic, but the colour would be better!

I guess you were correct. I did a search for button boots on Google though but I didn't find any of the ones posted above. Button boots it is..

The pair is made by Anthony Delos.

Whoosh.

I usually just see them referred to as 'button boots'. Not too sure about that particular pair, but I've seen some very nice ones posted before.
