facepalm.gif Just saw that. I suppose that's one way to avoid being labeled a "dumb OP" in multiple responses...

Cowboy? Noone said RRL was for dressing like a cowboy.. its for dressing like a Rail Road Worker:

"Founded in 1993 by Ralph Lauren, the Double RL brand was created as a modern tribute to the independent spirit of the untamed West, and the tireless resolve of the American worker. Both the brand name and logo are tributes to Mr. Lauren’s working RRL cattle Ranch in Colorado, which exemplifies the soul and lifestyle of the brand."

Sounds like cowboy-wannabe gear to me.

I never owned any Chaps items but I believe it was received in a similarly positive way in its heyday in the late 70s or early 80s.

Oh, as somewhat of an SF'er, I know that Chaps was sold off. I am referring to the Chaps of the earlier part of the century. They were a diffusion line below LRL...ie...one could buy it in Kohl's or as the filler garbage of TJ Maxx. Rugby I think is more of a bridge line. The polos are priced identically to PRL stuff. The one thing is that Rugby stuff tops out at $250. It's PRL stuff for the (presumably) slimmer fitting college set..but still priced for students with more disposable income than would be typical.

RRL suiting looks nice. Step up from Rugby and Polo, I assume? (Full canvas, Caruso)
