I thought about Kurt Cobain, but man, he wrote so much amazing music, I'd almost hate to risk it..

Hendrix, Hendrix, Hendrix. He is the only one that I feel would have continued to evolve and grow over a long lifespan like Picasso did with his art.

Can't you see.....

How stupid of a choice that is.

Hendrix, Hendrix, Hendrix. He is the only one that I feel would have continued to evolve and grow over a long lifespan like Picasso did with his art.

This is the correct answer. We're looking for people who got cut down before their time, not people who've lived a complete life and were burnt out at the end.

I think Jim Morrison, Janis Joplin, and Buddy Holly would also work here.

think lennon, if he wasn't killed that day would be writing more songs for a long long time. also jimi for that matter. personally I would've loved watching freddie mercury and queen in concert.

Hendrix, SRV, Beethoven.

Frankly I'm nostalgic for a number of other artists (Lennon, Bonham, Mercury, Strummer) but of the artists that come to mind - I think only Hendrix, SRV, and Beethoven were all at their best when they passed on - and it makes me wonder what would have come next had they lived.

+1 for Hendrix

My personal picks:

Ian Curtis (Joy Division)
Richey Edwards (Manic Street Preachers)
