Not all Hong Kong tailors are good.

Don’t be a fool like me and buy from Hi Mark Martin Tailors Hong Kong who come to town from time to time.  Both Aroon (Aaren) Mahtani and Sushil (Sam) Kumar are charlatans.

pics or no cigar

Lemme guess... Nathan Road??

How true. The decent HK tailors have long been identified here - there are a few middle of the road ones but these can be variable and there are many dreadful ones as well.

Tourists are fools, misled by what they read and thus assuming that any tout peddling cheap suits outside a shop front on Nathan Road or elsewhere is offering something that will not disintegrate after one wearing.

there are more bad tailors than good in hong kong fwiw. just think- there are only a handful of hkg tailors being discussed here, while the tst district is chock full of sam's tailor clones.

..oh don't forget the hashish as well. Those HK Indian tailors can be useful for some things.

Is this Peter Lee's arcade, or is the next block? I remember going in here.

There are plenty of bad tailors in Hong Kong. They usually follow me on Nathan Road and can be recognized by using following standard line "Sir, how are you ... wait a moment ... I make you very nice suit for good price in 24 hours". Typically they run around with their friend/brother/cousin who always asks "Sir, fake rolex? Looks 100% real."

How come they are charlatans?  I'm actually thinking about buying a suit from them based on their "groupon" ad.  When you say they are charlatans, can you please elaborate?  Did they not send you your suit when you ordered it?  Did the suits fall apart after wearing it only once?  You can't just call someone a charlatan without elaborating why they are.  I'm seriously thinking about buying a suit from Hi Mark Tailors because their groupon deal is really cheap.  Can you please give me 3-5 reasons why I should not fork over my hard earned money to Hi Mark Tailors.  Why are they so bad to do business with?

Good luck!!! TBH that inspires about as much confidence as getting a suit from some Indian geezer on Nathan Road.
