What sportcoat\blazer?

I'm looking to get a sportcaot\blazer from Jcrew soon and I really like there Ludlow fits, because I have broad shoulders I'm a 40S. Anyway, I was wondering what color to get, I know any would go great with dark jeans but I want to know what you guys think would look right with pants, khaki, deep blue, graphite color pants?

Btw if I'm wearing pants that are like the stanton pants which are sun faded would it look good with a blazer or should I go with a more traditional pant like chinos?

Medium gray, make sure its got some texture, like herringbone, nailhead, etc... Don't get a worsted wool jacket, it'll look like an orphaned suit jacket.

Faded pants can def. work with a sport coat, but the shades have to be right.

This is really more of a MC kind of question if you ask me though.

thanks for the reply, I wasn't sure if I should put this thread in the MC section. Defnitely will probably get that grey harringbone, what about a navy blazer?

Blazer is not a sport coat first of all, the major difference being that a sport coat will be made of a more rugged material (hence being able to do sports in it).

A navy blazer is more of a formal jacket, made of a similar material of a suit coat, except traditionally having metal buttons.

While both are supposed to be worn as odd jackets, pay attention to what else you are going to be pairing it with and where you are going to wear it.

Just my personal opinion, but you are probably going to be a lot more mileage out of a sport coat if you want to pair with jeans and chinos.

Also, pay attention to the details. A sport coat is intended to be informal, so look for things like patch pockets, dual vents (its supposed to be a practical coat), elbow patches if you into that thing, etc...
