zegna shoes

I have an opportunity to buy a couple of pairs of zegna shoes; brand new. the guy has provided me with great shoes in the past at great prices. these are bit more expensive.

He says they are the top of the line zegna and retailed for $2495 and I can get for $800 / pair.

Thoughts? I love the style, just want to make sure this is a good buy.... the brown ones look absolutely fantastic....

1. Top of the line is 'Zegna Couture'. If they are Zegna Couture's for $800, that's a good deal. Are they limited edition ones by any chance?

2. $800 is probably too much if it's regular Zegna (imo)

They don't look like the LEs to me, but that is a Couture / XXX box the burgundy shoes are sitting on.

if the picture is of the actual shoes you will be getting
the first shoes look pretty scruffed up and creased for being "brand new"

Both look worn.

First pair are sweet.

I have 3 pairs of Zegna shoes............like them all and they've serviced me well (and will continue to do so!)

$800 for the couture line is not bad.

Can your guy get any Zegna shoes or just these?

Could be shopwear combined with crust leather (shows creases), can't really tell without looking at the soles.

But shop worn isn't brand new. It's like buying a demo car.

It's exactly like buying a demo car - but it's a lot harder to get 75% off sticker price on "brand new, never been worn, factory perfect".

I rather pay 75 off for a tried on shoe than a prisitine shoe at full retail, after the first wearing they'll look the same.

They're nice, but don't represent a huge savings... retail about $900. I have a pair of Z XXX and like them very much - good sturdy shoe and nice leather and patina, but for $600 I'd say those shoes are just meh.

He gets me prior year models. Most of them are never worn. Sometimes they are floor models ( I.e. some creases but sole is intact). I've bought 5 pairs from him in the past. They were xxx but not LE.
He can get different sizes, etc. and pings me when he sees something I might be interested in. I've bought some xxx at $590 but these LE are a bit higher in price....

I don't know... A 30 to 40% savings doesn't seem bad to me.... But maybe I'm not that great of a bargain hunter...
