Has Caruso stopped making suits for RLBL? - Page 4

Caruso is sold at Neiman's. I know, not really helpful for NYC.

Intredasting.

I have 2 caruso RLBL suits from a couple years ago. I went into RL store yesterday and tried on a RLBL and found the fit to be almost identical.

I think the OP is now saying they're still made by Caruso.

silvercitynyc, my Rugby RL glen plaid suit looks identical to your RLBL suit, in terms of fabric (mine is only half canvassed and style is a little different). But the pattern and cloth I suspect is the same, as far as the eye can see according to your pics in the other thread.

Proof enough, imo, that RLBL is still Caruso made since Rugby was still Caruso made as of last fall/winter

Yeah...the SA at the chicago store confirmed Caruso when I asked a week or two ago when my friend was buying an RLBL for his wedding.

Yeah, OP, you silly man, you.

Can you provide the link ? kinda curious to see a RLPL suit deconstructed

The RLBL suit I posted is a charcoal glen plaid w/ faint blue overcheck. Is this it?

By the way, on Rugby (not to get off track), is it decent quality? Looks pretty cheap, and I bet with sales, it's very reasonably priced...

Rugby has a single rear slit, I believe? They're also much shorter & are half-canvassed, from what I've read. All deal-breakers for me.

I had no idea about the maker change, but you're most likely not going to be able to tell any difference. When purple label switched from St. Andrews to Caruso, most people didn't know either. That being said, these makers can make different cuts, shoulders, fits, and qualities all depending on what RL wants them to do. Corneliani already had great fitting models with Polo: Garrison and Bradford. No reason they couldn't do it to black label standards.

^I agree. However, I think the OP was misinformed and actually corrected himself later. RLBL is still by Caruso.

100% correct.

Although, for 300-400 its a great deal for me (and I suspect a few others who shop on a tight budget)! Is it RLBL quality? nope, but knowing that Caruso is the man behind them, comparatively I have yet to find a better suit at that sale price range (brand new, and closest to my size otr in a 36R).

If I ever see a RLBL in a staple color drop into the 650-800 i would grab it without hesitation - but that happening with a 36R - wishful thinking...

I've seen RLBL sport coats in 36R for under $500 in an RL store and suits for under $800 in the RL store in 36.

Guess you were in the right place at the right time. I've also seen a RLBL sport coat for under $500 in 36R with peak lapels years ago, bought it when i stumbled upon it. However since then, never seen a sc or suit in 36R, let alone in my range.

If you do see just let me know! A navy rlbl in 36R for sub $800 would be great!
