i think the "problem" is that AE's need to be broken in and molded to my feet before they become super comfortable
but when you just try them on in the store, they are much stiffer than the "fashion brands"
i'm still going to keep the magnanni espinosa
but my next purchase will most likely be a pair of AE's
i liked the AE Strand a lot ... now how to find a pair for cheap???
the AE boston was on sale but i did not like the fit... the 5 last? too high in the heel area
definitely preferred the 0 last that the Strand is made on
You transposed the lasts.
The Strand is on the 5 last and the Boston is the one on the 0 last. As for the pricing conundrum, they are routinely part of the Nordstrom anniversary sale, but that ended a month ago. SF user allaboutshoes has all models of AE for a great price in first quality. If you are willing to accept seconds, email the shoe bank at Allen Edmonds and ask for a list of shoes in your size on the 5 last. If you're not a terribly uncommon size, you should have great success. If you are an uncommon size, you're in a bit of trouble.
