Alrighty so i'm a tad bit overweight (just that bit of extra fat) and i'm looking for a way to get rid of the extra and have a better looking body.  I'm currently at a large university eating on a meal plan so I'm a bit limited on what I can eat but does anybody have some tips on what I should do to loose weight and gain muscle and how to do it on a college campus?  My school has a great recreation center/gym and ive been playing sports for as long as I can remember just unfortunately put on a bit too much weight lol.  Any help or tips are great.  Thanks in advance!!

A - Read "Fit for Life" by Harvey Diamond - you'll take off the weight if you follow the program. It's easy and requires no calorie counting.

It's basically this:

1) Eat only fruit for breakfast and until noon every day.

2) Don't mix proteins and starches

B - Don't get high before you go to the cafeteria.

You have a weight room, you know how to use use google. Extra SF™ points can be had by using the fucking search function.

Also, this:

TrH i'm not trying to get into an arguement or anything but the search function gets more and more impossible everyday with each and every post,  I did in fact search and found nothing specific to my question so I went ahead and posted a thread.  Trust me i'm on a ton of other forums and I know what its like to have 681583 of the same exact question because nobody searched it so I understand.  Once again I'm just going to say that since there was no threads on specifically what I was looking for I decided to make one and I'm sure some other noobs might just search and find this one.  All due respect

That's how I lost (and have kept off) 70lbs - 1/3rd my body weight. I know it's completely counter intuitive, but I swear it works great. I'd encourage you to try it, but I know you're a gainer.

Well yes when people post really vague thread titles which have nothing to do with the overall theme of their thread/question then that's what you get right.

Anyway, here are my thoughts, I mean it's not P90XYZ, or Atkins or whatever the christ, but I think it might get the job done..
  • Drink only water
  • Go jogging every morning minimum 30 mins
  • Limit meals to 2/day and do not eat after 5:00PM
  • Eat "healthy food" (research what qualifies as healthy food and what does not)

Good luck.

LOL @ some of the responses in this thread. Here's some general random pieces of advice:

-research IF (intermittent fasting); this is a diet that can work really well with a college schedule. Especially if you have all you can eat dinners, this should save you some money and give you a better looking body.
-join an intramural team, preferably in a sport that requires a good amount of cardio (e.g. basketball or soccer).
-try not to drink your calories. Water, green tea, propel, etc. are all good options. Try and limit your alcohol consumption to one or two nights/wk (I know this will be hard, being college and all).
-resarch Stronglifts/Starting strength and other newbie weight training programs.
-limit your intake of processed foods. Veggies, lean meats, nuts, berries, etc. should make up the bulk of your diet.

Try it before you make that conclusion. Just try it - try it for a month.

I have no idea why anyone would have a need for an inane diet like that. Especially if OP is only trying to shake some measly pounds off. It's calories in < calories out, high protein and shit will happen as long as one is in a caloric deficit.

Fad diets are ridiculous, reducing weight isn't that complicated as a lot of ppl seem to think it is.
