Thanks to YOU, IIRC, when I stumbled across three brand new Kirkland dress shirts that were slimmish fit and no iron at GW for $4.75 per, I bit. Hard. I feel like I let Teh Donald down and I didn't even sign on this month! So yeah. I blame you. New shoes. New shirts. No determination.

How am I to blame? I've never advocated buying Kirkland anything. smile.gif

No, but you turned my head away from the tent like offerings of the English shirt makers toward higher quality, slim fit shirts from the likes of RL, BR , J. Crew and so forth. The Kirklands are above average shirts compared to the Staffords, Van Husen, Perry Ellis offerings, etc. and are of a slim cut (not quite to your liking but slim, nonetheless) with higher arm holes so I copped.

Actually, I was interested in their quality and I've bought some for my sister's husband as a present. He's not nearly as slim most people here, so bigger cuts were preferred. The cotton seemed OK, but the real test comes with wearing the shirt. How do your collars hold up with time? Do they stay up nicely or fall down flat like most of the cheaper shirts I owned before?

You have given me an idea for what will no doubt be considered a low brow thread. I bought the Kirklands for their slimness and no iron qualities as weekly work wear shirts. I will try to take and post a photo of every wearing for comparison purposes. These shirts have button down collars so your results may vary. I expect widespread condemnation for this effort but there's no "I" in "TEAM". There is, however, "AT ME" and that's where everyone's attention should be during this test.

Teh Donald has been most gracious as we continue to derail his NPCfS2011 thread.

i probably went over my $100 budget,

47 for new belt
38 for skincare
27 for alterations

damn i was so close!

in retrospect, whenever i join these forum commitments i tend to spend less, which is good i guess

MOL I'm sticking to my pledge to report that I just kopped this guy, NWT, for $75 off the Bay. WAYYYY too good of a deal to pass up, especially since it's what I've needed since last fall. Think I might be in for no purchase October that this point though.

I'm pretty much in awe of you guys. I found a no label "made in England" camel brown cashmere/wool db overcoat with peak lapels and pick stitching at a GW today for $15 along with a pair of 29X30 Gap Cords in navy that I am hoping will look great under my new H-F sweater when it gets colder. I think I'm still under a $100 for the month but although I owned none of the things I bought (well, the shirts, maybe?) I think I'd have been disqualified.

Kibitzing has some advantages, I suppose. Best of luck and congrats to those of you who stayed the course.

I broke my agreement slightly, my wife wanted some fragrance from Neiman Marcus and I tagged along. While I was there, I found a Stefano Ricci black poka dot tie for $19. I could not turn down a deal like that (Im not even sure JCPennys has ties for that cheap).

But I believe I did vindicate myself by not purchasing a very fine looking green cashmere sweater that was marked down from $500 to $89.

Self control from here on out.

Sinners! the lot of you. lol8[1].gif Would you boys pleeease get through the remaining 75 hours without spending. The day of judgement is at hand.
You know, those of you who fell really need to try again for October.

There are a lof of members who have not rung in as yet and please do, or I'll have to create a 'Missing In Action' category for the silent ones.

When I heard those who ordered during the RL "sale" might have their orders canceled I immediately assumed you were behind the leak, looking to test the easily tempted.

Still on the wagon. Might have fallen off, if that RL Sale code was good. LOL

Very tempted nonetheless. Thank God I live in Toronto, so shopping sales are really limited compared to if I was in US. Plus, the price versus quality is not there. October sound like an idea, but have a buddy hitting NYC, so I might fall of the wagon during then. biggrin.gif

I placed a massive order of kids' clothes with the RL code. I went back and contemplated breaking the No Purchase Club for some horse butt shoes, but by the time I added them to the cart to check the price, the code was dead.

Well, I just failed hard. Didn't realize the new Panta ties were coming out last week. Just snagged myself a beautiful blue herringbone.

I'm in for trying again in October.
