Knitwear 2011

Even though it's still 95F here, I can't help but start thinking about knitwear for this fall/winter. I'm happy with the Cabourn, Universal Works, and Inis Meain that I have, and I'm looking forward to the Inverallan knits on their way.

But there has to be something else coming down the pike that I need, yeah? White Mountaineering and Sasquatchfabrix EOTOTO look interesting, but a bit wild for my taste. Schneider and Ervell are solid as usual. Has SNS Herning come and gone?

What is everyone looking forward to this fall?

I sold all my beautiful Tom Ford and Purple label cashmere knits and now I regret it. Uniqlo fleece ftw now.

I thought Inverallan stopped making knits but now I see seemingly new pictures popping up what's up? Or did they just stop making custom knits?

Glad someone started this thread. I've got every intention on acquiring a nice cardigan this season.

Anything about Geller knits? I moved to a colder part of Canada and need some layering clothes now

They still make knits, but only wholesale to retailers. I organized a group buy through a shop last spring.

Oh, and didn't Razele say he had some Scottish custom knitter in his back pocket? Whatever happened to that?

Anyone have an opinion on if a sns stark would be too long on me at 5'8"? I'm late on those but have always wanted one after owning one of their knit caps

Mentioned this in Random Fashion Thoughts, but I'm curious about the label Monsieur Lacenaire. They specialize in knits. Anyone have any experience with their stuff? I like a lot of what I see here: http://www.monsieurlacenaire.com/collec_all.html

I'm looking to get some new knits this season, nothing on the radar yet except the Inverallan group buy though

will be following this thread closely heh

I'm really impressed with SnS Herring's textured knits, but theyre a bit out of my pricepoint. I look forward to GANTs offerings every fall though; have a fair isle from last season that I love, and a cricket sweater from this year that is a bit long in the arms but still excellent. their red jaquard from pre-fall looks great, and their cardi, varsity sweater, and fisherman sweater are all nice for about 150 bones.

but if i see SNS on sale later this year I might have to scoop one..

my question is: who makes the go to chunky shawl cardi nowadays? DS Dundee looks like a contender

Unfortunately I would probably say yes. I am 6'0' and the small is still a pretty long fit. Maybe you can get away with an XS? Quality is unreal...

It's pricey but I'm a big fan of this one from Thom Browne.

I also some gorgeous chunky Dries knits at By George in Austin yesterday, but it's Dries so I'm not that surprised by the quality (or the price!)

Has anyone checked out Todd Snyder yet? I tried on one of his cardi's yesterday as well and it was great.

He's a former J.Crew designer and his stuff definitely looks it. Of his collection, I only really liked these three looks

Last cardigan is pretty nice though
