Watchband for Submariner

Maybe just me, but I dont think a croc or shell band belongs anywhere near a Sub. Nato, if anything.

You can get a bespoke Camille Fournet band. I say bespoke even though it's really just customized. You pick you material, stitching, length etc. I think they also have RTW versions in lug sizes and lengths.

I've seen some made up very nicely with sharkskin bands for diving watches. I had one on my Tudor Sub from the early 80s before I traded it. A very nice strap.

I think Hirsch also has sharkskin as well as stingray.

I've also seen croc made up with natural rubber underneath, although I think that's better for a pilot than a diver.

I'd personally stick with one of the two fishes- shark or stingray. Much more appropriate for a diver. Or just natural rubber. Not synthetic.

Kind of agree about the Alligator/Croc on a Submariner.. But I have a Sirtoli Alligator watchband and I love it. Great company

I like this racing strap posted in the watch porn thread. It's also on a speedy but I would be interested to see what it looks like on a sub or other diver.

I really recommend an Omega metal mesh band. They are comfortable & very high quality. Look real good imo too. Yeah it's Omega branded on the clasp but who cares. Not dressy at all.. but dive watches aren't dressy anyways.

You're definitely not alone on this. It's been tried and it never looks right. NATO/ZULU or metal is the only way to go.

I have to say that I actually like leather bands on dive/chrono watches. I have a Speedy that looks great with a Sartoli Croc in Honey.

By the way that Sub with black croc and the one with the brownish/honey leather are really nice.
