I bought a tom ford coat this past winter with the intention of getting it tailored since it was too tight. I am trying to decided whether the coat is worth tailoring or if I should sell it. It has never been worn and is unaltered but does have a cut tag, which I removed altogether. I was wondering how much I would be able to sell the coat for. I spent 2.5k on it and was hoping to recover most of that. The coat would fit a us 36r perfectly and would be just a bit tight on a 38r. I have posted a pic from google so you guys know the coat I am referring too.

I sold that coat to Aeglus, who is in your picture. Retail was about $5,000. I think you would have a hard time recovering your investment, but you would easily get back at least 40% of that.

Off topic, but what's with the flap on the breast pocket?

You wont have luck getting it tailored from smaller size to larger. Sell the coat, but gear yourself for a loss. I reckon you could get $1000 for it, representing, as spoo said, 40% of your original investment.

There should be an outlet to let the waist out up to around 1 1/2".

Must be wonderful advertising starting a thread in here and then listing it over in classifieds...

I think spoo was saying 40% of msrp. Either way I put the coat up at 2200 obo and there has already been some interest. First person to give me reasonable offer gets the coat.

No, I was saying 40% of your investment, at about 1k. However, as I suggested in your classified, I strongly suggest you using your own images of the coat, not one you googled - which happens to be a SF member. Im not sure if he would like his image being used without permission.

I have removed the photo but I think it was more inappropriate for you to sabotage my sale thread than for me to put up a nice picture that happened to belong to one of the members. You could have messaged me. I am an honest seller and buyer. I have been on styleforum for 4 years and I am not here looking to make money. Usually I just reply to fs or wtb threads, this is the secod fs thread i have made and it annoys me that you were so rude.

Aside from measurements, you should really put up a picture of the actual garment you are selling, not an image that you googled. Just saying.

He was far from rude.
